The Flip MinoHD Video Camera is one of the easiest to use and one of the bestselling pocket video cameras on the market. As to be expected from a Flip product, it doesn’t offer all the functions that its competitors offer but it is dead simple to use. So, if you want to shoot some straight HD video at 720p without any additional settings, etc. then the Flip MinoHD Video Camera is the pocket camcorder for you.
Flip MinoHD Video Camera – Memory and Recording Features
You can cpature up to 2 hours of video on the Flip MinoHD Video Camera. The resolution of the video is at 720p with 60 frames per second (fps). There is no other resolution supported on the Flip MinoHD Video Camera. It also does not offer a memory extension port. Overall, the 720p resolution is a perfect quality for video sharing on YouTube and other video portals. You can shoot fast moving video like sports or action without flickering due to the 60fps settings. It is somewhat annoying though that you cannot expand the memory in any way. 2 hours of video are overall enough but you will have to make sure that you offload your recorded video to a video sharing site or to your computer in order to preserve your videos.
The sound recording capabilities of the Flip MinoHD Video Camera are overall good and are sufficient for most video recordings. The Flip MinoHD Video Camera does not have a microphone plug with which you could use an external microphone.

However, that’s true for any kind of image stabilization.
Flip MinoHD Video Camera – Connectivity And Built-In Screen
The only connectivity that is offered with the Flip MinoHD Video Camera is its built-in USB connector. You can plug it into your PC or Mac and download your movies. The software on-board the Flip MinoHD allows you to organize and share your videos effortlessly.
The batteries are built-in and are rechargeable. The internal battery can be recharged through the USB connection or with a separately sold power adapter. Make sure you have your battery charged before you go on a vacation or travel.
The built-in 2 inch LCD allows you to quickly review any video that you have shot. This LCD screen is sufficient for a quick review of your videos but you should not expect to be able to get a good view with this screen.

The outstanding feature of the Flip MinoHD Video Camera certainly is its simplicity. However, in our opinion it’s just a little too simple. There’s some options missing that we would see as very basic, for example to be able to take a still picture with the camera. While this is possible with other pocket camcorders, it’s not a feature the Flip MinoHD offers. Be aware that if you need a pocket video camera that does anything more than shoot your very basic video, you will need to look for other options than the Flip MinoHD Video Camera.
